Loy Zona is a Naturalist Filmmaker & Fine Art Photographer working in the water ecosystems of the American Continent
His work follows a tradition of deep, lived-in observation: camera as the human eye, immersion as the method. Recent projects have taken him along the wild Neches in East Texas, through the valley of the Rio Grande and Sangre De Cristo mountain range, and into the ancient cypress swamps of Louisiana. The resulting films and photographs move at the pace of the landscapes themselves, unhurried and immense.
Based in East Texas, Loy Zona continues to document the beauty and fragility of our local ecosystems by working with conservation organizations and grassroots initiatives.
